We
would like to thank everyone for their help at the Ladeside Lions day
out to Gaiety Theatre on Friday 5th Dec, 19 kids saw 'Snow White &

AUGUST
KCFC FUN DAY Sunday 17th August 2008 will
be remembered as the day the sun shone in Kilbirnie ! It also happened to
be the Fun Day for KCFC. A fun day festival of football with KCFC's 7a side
and 11 a side boys and girls teams all taking part was accompanied by a
bouncy castle and slide, beat the goalie, the NAL Activator, bottle stall,
face painting, Kilbirnie town initiative stalls and the ever popular burger
kitchen and beer tent which went down a storm in the heat. With
over 200 kids taking part and lots of folk out enjoying the sunshine, it
was a fantastic occasion and thanks go to all who put in the effort to make
the day a success. Thanks also to Hugh and Billy in the pavillion for putting
up with us as we tried to set things up and being on call all day long.
nice to
get a comment like this:-
"thanks

all had one of the best days out ever and that he,d like to thank everyone
involved. "

LIONS
TRIUMPH
KCFC Ladeside
Lions were invited by Alba Thistle Boys Club to play footy as part of
their 'fun day' which was held on Sunday 3rd August. Mixed weather throughout
the day , roasting hot one minute, hail stones the next!! but it didn't
deter anyone, from young to... mature players too.
The Lions played two teams, Alba Thislte & East End Boys Club, we
didn't keep scores as it was for fun, but were declared the overall winners
& presented with the Accord Hospice Cup, in memory of Flora O'Neil,
(donated by Mrs O'Neil's family, a former resident at the hospice).
All the
kids received a medal too. The Captain on the day Liam Cairns was asked
to collect the trophy, and the photo shows Liam holding the cup
The Lions would like to thank Mr Phil McGrath for the invitation in the
first instance. We are honored & humbled and will be for some time.
It was also good to get the chance to play teams from a different league/area,
"it keeps you on your toes".

JULY
FRIENDSHIP CUP
The Lions U9s & Dalry Rovers had a 'friendship'
game on Sat 5th July, playing at Dalry Astro.
The game was even, therefore it went into penalties, the penalties were
even for a while too, finally a few players broke the mould & the
Lions narrowed into the lead winning 4-2.
We have a 'friendship' cup & both teams have agreed to replay next
season.
Party atmoshpere was had by all, refreshments & goodies went down
a treat, both teams get on really well.
Attached are a couple of pictures. One with our three coaches & the
team & the other with
Hugh Munday & his team alongside the Lions.
