We would like to thank everyone for their help at the Ladeside Lions day out to Gaiety Theatre on Friday 5th Dec, 19 kids saw 'Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs.  They got a special mention during the performance and they were extactic with surprise.

The Lions also had their Trophy Presentation on Sat 6th Dec at Lochbar Indoor Football, Lochwinnoch.  They were presented by our 'Away Sponsors' representative Stephen Maxwell on behalf of City Refrigeration Ltd.

Just as the presentation was coming to a close....The kids, Coaches & all the parents were presented with a surprise gift of £500.00 by Danny Cairns on behalf of Glaxo SmithKline. A very unexpected gift which will go a long way as the Lions develop. We would like to thank GSK for their very generous gift.

Finally a well earned thanks to the staff at Lochbar, we gave them a very busy couple of hours and they were fabulous & courteous for attending to 20 plus kids & their supporters on the day.

The team receive their cheque with Coach Tommy and Mags at the back

The Lions would like to say a big thank you to Wullie Haughey for his donation to the team and Stephen Maxwell who attended a game on his behalf and handed over a cheque to take the whole team to an "end of season" panto, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.  Thanks from the players and coaching staff of the Lions

Front row Harry Travers, Aaron McGuire, Ewan Boyle, Conner McGratten and Liam Paterson.
In an exciting game the Tigers lost 6 - 4 where a lack of sharpness in front of goal cost the Tigers the game. Harry Travers opened the scoring for the Tigers, Aaron McGuire got two and Iain Bell the fourth.

KCFC FUN DAY      Sunday 17th August 2008 will be remembered as the day the sun shone in Kilbirnie ! It also happened to be the Fun Day for KCFC. A fun day festival of football with KCFC's 7a side and 11 a side boys and girls teams all taking part was accompanied by a bouncy castle and slide, beat the goalie, the NAL Activator, bottle stall, face painting, Kilbirnie town initiative stalls and the ever popular burger kitchen and beer tent which went down a storm in the heat. With over 200 kids taking part and lots of folk out enjoying the sunshine, it was a fantastic occasion and thanks go to all who put in the effort to make the day a success. Thanks also to Hugh and Billy in the pavillion for putting up with us as we tried to set things up and being on call all day long.

nice to get a comment like this:-

"thanks steve got a phone call from the coach from knockentiber  he said they all had one of the best days out ever and that he,d like to thank everyone involved. "

KCFC Ladeside Lions were invited by Alba Thistle Boys Club to play footy as part of their 'fun day' which was held on Sunday 3rd August.  Mixed weather throughout the day , roasting hot one minute, hail stones the next!! but it didn't deter anyone, from young to... mature players too.
The Lions played two teams, Alba Thislte & East End Boys Club, we didn't keep scores as it was for fun, but were declared the overall winners & presented with the Accord Hospice Cup, in memory of Flora O'Neil, (donated by Mrs O'Neil's family, a former resident at the hospice).

All the kids received a medal too. The Captain on the day Liam Cairns was asked to collect the trophy, and the photo shows Liam holding the cup
The Lions would like to thank Mr Phil McGrath for the invitation in the first instance.  We are honored & humbled and will be for some time.  It was also good to get the chance to play teams from a different league/area, "it keeps you on your toes".

The Lions U9s & Dalry Rovers had a 'friendship' game on Sat 5th July, playing at Dalry Astro.
The game was even, therefore it went into penalties, the penalties were even for a while too, finally a few players broke the mould & the Lions narrowed into the lead winning 4-2.

We have a 'friendship' cup & both teams have agreed to replay next season.
Party atmoshpere was had by all, refreshments & goodies went down a treat, both teams get on really well.
Attached are a couple of pictures. One with our three coaches & the team & the other with
Hugh Munday & his team alongside the Lions.

Heres a couple of shots pretty poor but light was bad
