KCFC FUN DAY SUNDAY 16TH AUG
The annual fun day held by Kilbirnie Community Football Club took place on Sunday16th August, and it managed to stay dry for the whole of the event which was very well attended. With football fun games involving all the KCFC boys and girls teams from U8s to U16s playing opponents from Beith, Kilwinning ,Largs ,Girdle Toll, Kilmaurs, Crosshouse, Hurlford and Hamilton, there was lots of effort put in and lots of goals scored as well. The adult section of KCFC involving players from the over 35s, the Sunday league and the amateurs all joined in for a mixed kick about which saw some very even games played out on the 11s pitches which were in remarkably good condition considering all the rain which has fallen recently. Whilst all that was going on, there were the usual attractions of bouncy castles, target soccer, face painting, bottle stall, prize stall, beat the goalie and the very popular sponge throw when nearly all the coaches took to the stocks to let their players get their own back and a few got a real good soaking, all in the best possible taste! Thanks go to everyone who helped in the background and Mags and Tommy for the bottle stall, Casey for the prize stall, Agnes, Wullie and crew for the very busy kitchen, Cookie for keeping the beer tent stocked and Heather for selling the raffle tickets, the prize being a kids mountain bike kindly donated by R T Cycles and won by Colin McMaster ,resident of Kilbirnie. The KCFC committee hope everyone who came down had a really good time.
