January 2006 saw the launch of a new Community Football Club in Kilbirnie.
The Club started with an amalgamation
of the following teams: Kilbirnie Ladeside, Kilbirnie Ryside U21's and
Kilbirnie Ladeside Youth teams at U17, U16, U13, U12, U11, U9 and U8.
The club has been
formed with the following objectives:
i. To increase access to sports and leisure opportunities for the inhabitants of Kilbirnie and the surrounding areas.
ii. To develop a player pathway for local sport and leisure, thereby encouraging a more positive and healthy lifestyle for today's society.
iii. To develop social education programs that reflect the principles and policies of the club, to assist in building a safe and strong community.
The committee and
office bearers are made up from volunteers from the member
teams. They are working closely with the SFA, SYFA, NAC & NAL to
determine the best way forward in achieving these objectives and become
a recognised source of success within the community.
The club now has teams
operating at the following age groups:-
Over 55s Over35s, Ladeside Juniors, Kilbirnie AFC, Sunday league, ,
u17s ,u13s, u12s , u11s girls, u11s, u10s, u9s, u9s girls, u8s, u7s, u6s, a p1/p2
" soccer school" and mini kickers for the 3 and 4 year olds.
KCFC also has "Soccer Camps" during the Easter and Summer Holidays
